{"id":7080,"date":"2019-06-17T14:59:00","date_gmt":"2019-06-17T20:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hi8lvmqnx7.wpdns.site\/?p=7080"},"modified":"2026-01-16T12:53:44","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T19:53:44","slug":"all-sport-one-day-2019-sets-new-attendance-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportcalgary.ca\/all-sport-one-day-2019-sets-new-attendance-record\/","title":{"rendered":"All Sport One Day 2019 Sets New Attendance Record"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>CALGARY, Alberta&nbsp;\u2014 Sport Calgary\u2019s popular \u201cAll Sport One Day\u201d event set a new attendance record this year, with over 4000 kids discovering a new sport for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held this year on Saturday, June 15, All Sport One Day is a free annual day of sport discovery for Calgary kids ages 6 to 17. Local sport organizations \u2013 over 85 this year &#8211; volunteered their time to host over 380 sport sessions at 20 partner facilities across Calgary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sports offered included traditional favourites such as soccer, baseball, basketball, and golf, but also unique offerings such as combat archery, circus arts, capoeira, gaelic football, ninja warrior training, and quidditch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sport Calgary is proud that many sessions were fully or partially adaptable to accommodate persons with disabilities. The free annual event allows kids from all demographics and backgrounds a chance to fall in love with a new sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll Sport One Day continues to grow in popularity each year, inspired by the importance of amateur sport and play for kids,\u201d said Murray Sigler, Sport Calgary CEO. \u201cBecause of its broad grassroots support, the event now stands out and is recognized nationally as a Canadian success story that is unique to Calgary.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of all of us at Sport Calgary, our sincere thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who make the event a success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Sport Calgary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sport Calgary is a volunteer non-profit society,\u00a0representing sport in the city of Calgary.
